WHAT IS SMART AND RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING?

At Northfield Park Racino, we all want you to have fun while you still play smart and responsibly.

FOR INDIVIDUALS:

GAMBLING CAN BE SPONTANEOUS, SMART AND RESPONSIBLE.
Smart and Responsible Gaming for our guests means that you are gambling for pleasure and entertainment. We trust that you are aware of the likelihood that you will not win every spin, roll, bet or hand and that you understand the associated risks of gambling at Northfield Park
Racino. Smart and Responsible Gaming means that you are playing the game rather than letting it play you.

FOR NORTHFIELD PARK:

RESPONSIBLE GAMING GETS YOU SMARTER WINS.
Smart and Responsible Gaming for Northfield Park Racino means that we have a shared responsibility to communicate the risks associated with gambling. That’s why we promote an environment that prevents problem gambling before it happens. When you’re with
us, you’re family, and we watch out for you like we watch out for our own. We are committed to ensure gambling remains informed, smart,
responsible and fun for everyone. If problematic gambling does arise, we have resources to provide support to any guest who is struggling.

TEN RULES OF SMART AND RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING

Here are ten quick tips to help ensure you are gambling safely, smartly and responsibly.

  1. Keep it entertaining! If gambling begins to lose its fun, check in with us. We have resources for you to keep you gambling wisely.
  2. Remember, all entertainment comes at a cost. Anything you win should be a bonus, rather than an expectation.
  3. Come in with a game plan. Set a budget and stick to it. Chasing losses never works, and you will have more fun knowing you can play again in the future.
  4. Like a budget, it’s good to stick to a timeframe each visit. Whether you’re winning or losing, it’s also important to take breaks. There are plenty of options for food and drink breaks around the property!
  5. Play for the social experience or your own enjoyment and anticipate some losses. Each VLT has a Random Number Generator (RNG) which guarantees a random outcome on each play.
  6. Do not borrow money to gamble. Please reach out to a team member if you find yourself borrowing money.
  7. Plan for Smart and Responsible balance. Gambling should never interfere with or replace friends, family, work or other meaningful activities.
  8. Don’t chase lost money. The odds always favor “the house”, so beating the odds is not a smart game plan.
  9. If you find yourself using gambling to cope with something, we have a number of resources throughout the floor and online.
  10. Know all the Smart and Responsible facts, and how VLT machines work. Knowing the factshelps you make more informed—and healthier— decisions.
